내가 좋아하는 Kerry Russel의 작품의 원작 소설로 영화는 미국내에서도 인기가 있어서 2007년에 CBS에서 방송했다가 2010년에 재방송했을 때도 높은 시청률을 보였다고 한다.  평범한 일상속에서 찾을 있는 삶의 기쁨과 일상의 소중함을 느낄 수 있는 잔잔하지만 감동이 있는 영화였다.  소설은 영화의 엔딩과 조금은 다르지만 영화와 소설을 비교하며 읽을 수 있는 재미도 있었고 주인공의 심리를 섬세하게 잘 그려내어서 영화를 이해하는데 더욱 도움이 된 것 같다.
